League Table

Midlands Tier 2

     SEASON REVIEW 2023/24

The Blues recovered from a slow start to the BUCS season to finish well. After losing three of their first five league games, Oxford were sitting towards the bottom of the table, however an upturn in form after Christmas saw Oxford secure 10 points from their final five games, including 10-1 and 4-0 wins over local rivals Oxford Brookes.

In February, the Brookes Varsity match proved to be a cagey affair, with Oxford Brookes securing a narrow victory with a last-minute winner. The game started off with both teams enjoying their own spells of possession but with neither team able to create any clear-cut chances. In the second half the game began to open up, with Oxford University being denied by several saves from the opposition goalkeeper, however in the 97th minute of the game Oxford Brookes scored to go 1-0 up and win the game.

The Blues did however enjoy a good cup run, progressing to the semi finals before a tough 4-3 defeat to Nottingham after going down to 10 men. We look forward to seeing what next season has in store for us, and are hoping to maintain form with a strong pre-season!
